ORIGINAL WOOL PAINTING "SNOWMAN LOOKING IN WINDOW". Size: 19 x 15 inches (48.26 x 38.1 cm). Painting is nicely framed in a rustic gray finish frame and ready to hang. Overall size: 22 x 18 inches (55.8 x 45.7 cm) Painting is signed on the backside and lower right corner. ABOUT TECHNIQUE To create my paintings, I use a unique technique called “Wool Painting”, also known as "Wool Watercolor". All of my paintings are made from 100% Merino sheep’s wool by hand placing fine wool fibers layer by layer. This process does not use any needle, water, glue, or paint. Wool paintings carry special warmth and energy as wool is a natural, living material that keeps the mood and warmth of artist's hands. Wool paintings have useful properties: they relax, soothe, and calm as the viewer pleasantly examines them. A photo of a wool painting does not convey all that can be felt upon close and detailed examination. By owning such picture, you can ask your guests the mysterious question of what material is it made of. They will generally be indecisive on if it is painted in oil or with watercolor, but decidedly delighted when they learn it is natural sheep’s fiber. A painting made of wool will create an atmosphere of magic and miracles in your home or will be a wonderful and amazing gift to your friends and loved ones. I’m Oksana Ball and I’m a self-taught fiber artist and founder of “Wool Pictures”. To create paintings, I use a unique technique called “Wool Painting”, also known as “Wool Watercolor”. Instead of using paint and a brush, I use wool fibers to create the effects of layering color, creating texture, and providing depth. The paintings are crafted by layering wool fibers atop each other on a flat surface and pressing with glass to remain firmly in place; after which, they are nicely framed. I don’t use any glue, needles, water or paint! My inspiration comes from a love of nature and science, which has an enormous influence on my work. My wool paintings are composed of variety of themes, including landscapes, birds, animals, fish, and flowers. I also gladly create wool paintings for nursery and kids’ play rooms. My children’s collection contains butterflies, funny animals, snowmen, and hot air balloons. I also produce fanciful scenes featuring exotic fairies and whimsical renditions of Doctor Who. I exhibit at different art shows throughout New Jersey during the year. You can subscribe to updates on my website. My website –
