ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The fisher king, the wounded figure from Celtic and Arthurian legend can do little else but fish in the river, the land around him turning from fertile land to barren. In this work, a wounded kingfisher breaks from the myth and emerges as a symbol of liberation, though bloody and flaming, he rises up to a new height, fighting his own heaviness and the chaos behind.
