Wow Painting

In this work, the artist takes us to the teeming streets of Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo, where he was born. Inspired by African masks, this portrait transcends cultural boundaries to immerse us in a world oscillating between order and disorder, thus capturing the very essence of these complex urban environments. Through a raw and impactful aesthetic, the artist invites us to explore a visual universe where calm and chaos intertwine in a striking way. This duality envelops us, carrying us away in a whirlwind of emotions and reflections. In a society of frenzied consumption, Kando's work goes beyond aesthetics to question our daily relationship with consumption and its impacts on our environment. Using recycled materials, the artist practices what he calls "upcycling", transforming ordinary objects into extraordinary works of art. This creative process encourages the viewer to think about their own consumption patterns and the importance of reducing, reusing and recycling in our quest for a more sustainable future.
