Contact us.Born in Rieti, ITALY 1965, Fabrizio Simeoni studied in Viterbo, Italy, starting at the Artistic Lyceum Tuscia, and graduating, in 1991, at the Fine Art Academy Lorenzo Da Viterbo, where he obtained a degree in Painting.
In 1992 he attended the Liverpool John Moores University Fine Art department as part of the Fine Arts European Cultural Exchanges program, where he spent several months enriching his artistic background. Subsequently he remained and worked both as an artist and an Art Lecturer at the Liverpool Community College.
Since 2001 he lives and works in the West of Ireland, where he continues developing his art work and where until 2024 he delivered art classes as complementary therapy in the rehabilitation of service users within Mayo Mental Health Services, Health Service Executive-West.
He has widely exhibited in solo and group shows in Italy, UK, Sweden, Poland, Israel, Ireland and Australia taking part in major art events: Rome Expo Tevere, “Off the Beaten Track II”, TRACEY, Liverpool Biennial UK; “Brief Encounters”, Melbourne Subway, AUSTRALIA.
His artwork features in several public and private collections in Italy, Poland, Sweden, Israel, England, Ireland, Spain, Germany, Greece and USA.
In 1991 he acted in the Musical “Giacinta”, written and directed by Ellen Stewart founder of the Café la MaMa in New York; with music by Tom Horgan.
He has collaborated in the production of Art Events, Cultural Exchanges, the production of theatre sets and organised Solo and Group Shows.
Throughout his artistic career, he has worked and exhibited alongside artists from different backgrounds; from visual art to theatre and musical: Remo Brindisi; Umberto Mastroianni; Sergio Piccoli; Francesco Mencaroni; Roland Ekstrom; Liliane Montevecchi; Joel Silberman; Sheila Dabney; Kate Dezina; Brian Maguire, Brian Bourke, Brigitte Jurak, Alan Dunn.
With regard to his painting techniques and his artwork: up until 2002, he has concentrated on the study of surfaces, developing a contemporary use of the traditional media of fresco techniques.
In his recent work he has returned to his older practice of employing more materic/textured surfaces and layering of colours, creating a depth, which aims to invite the viewers’ participation in the space of the paintings.
Since 2006 he has been working on a fusion between paintings and music by creating paintings with sound vibration.
In 2016 he collaborated with musician Derek Mc.
