ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Early summer 2017, I was inspired to immerse myself in a golden field of oilseed rape, in the countryside near to home. I sketched the scene before me in acrylic on handmade Khadi paper, in situ, finishing it in a top layer of oil back in my studio. It was an amazing experience, being surrounded by the bright yellow plants a plenty. n.b. (This work retains the deckled/rough, uneven, edges characteristic of handmade Nepalese paper)
