You Give Yourself Away Painting

Many people give only if it serves their purpose, but some rare persons give whether or not they benefit. Some people are takers and some are givers. This painting is my reflection on human generosity, and it celebrates those rare persons who give with an open hand and an open heart, even if it means a sacrifice to their own comfort. If you are fortunate enough to be one of those persons, or to have someone like that in your life, then this painting is for you. It began as a watercolor on paper, which was then mounted to a solid birch wood panel. Then the painting was finished in oil and cold wax. The reverse side of the panel has been routed with a "keyhole" for ease of hanging. This painting has been sealed with a satin varnish for protection.
