About The Artwork
Hand-made and hand-stained/finished oak frame, hardwood panel, gesso, and oil. This challenging painting was all about huge amounts of contrast and details, and capturing motion simultaneously. So it's very much a stop-motion painting, done from a stop-motion photo. Disorientation was part of this work, purposefully putting the viewer off balance. Part of me still wants to work with gravity and turn the painting so the right side is on top. It is in reality about playfulness, and the energy kids have to expend.
