ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This painting took me about 900 working hours to make it. Having had conversations with people from all over the world about situations in our countries i realized how true the quote "ignorance is bliss" is. Thats when i got the idea of this painting... Based on the info received - usually through media - people build an opinion that is rooted inside of them and they make themselves convinced they understand the things right. They pick those pieces out of the universe of information that fit their comfy versions nicely and it helps them move on... On one hand we are not here for too long, and theres not enough time and no chance to ever learn the truth about everything. But i guess we need to at least admit our ignorance to avoid the prejudice towards something we dont know.. as we really are simultaneously on both sides of this picture. This painting was sold on Sotheby's online auction "Contemporary Discoveries" in May 2022. It was also displayed at the auction house's gallery on New Bond street in London, UK.

I am a Ukrainian artist, the basis of my art are illustrations on paper and acrylic paintings. In my artworks I focus a lot on details, therefore, dot work and mosaic became the main tools in my work. My art is filled with vivid and pure colors and shades, with the help of which I am aiming to convey the idea of the presence of positive aspects in any situation in our life or in any person in our environment. For the inspiration I turn to styles like pop art and symbolism. Also studying the reasons behind the behavior of others and my own, in each of my work I use symbols that describe my attitude towards the experience or knowledge obtained in life. I was born in 1983 in Kharkov, Ukraine, where from 1989 till 1997 I studied in the Lyceum of Arts in the fine arts group. During the studies in the Lyceum I participated in numerous children group exhibitions, contests and projects, including international ones. Since the autumn of 1997 I have been living in Kyiv, Ukraine. In 2017 I have resumed the artistic activity after more than 15 years break due to working in other industries.
