I live near the sea in northern Germany and this is where I find my motifs and inspiration. I like to spend my summers on one of the countless beaches here in the region and am fascinated by the dynamism and the vastness and the mostly deserted distance of this scenery. The special light on clear summer days particularly emphasizes the play of colours between the sky and sea tones and the colors of the beach and the dune landscape. The waves lap incessantly against the shore - usually peaceful and gentle in summer. "Calm beach" is captivated by this mood. With its friendly detailed scenes and colors, the painting invites the viewer to absorb this friendly and peaceful atmosphere.
