maansi jain is an nyc and berlin-based artist, photographer, writer and freelancer: specializing in interdisciplinary documentary and conceptual projects. They use play, glitch, and scientific inquiry to create colorful, energetic, and provocative imagery, sculpture, and installation through interdisciplinary media and methods such as blockchain, lidar, photogrammetry, 3D scanning, digital and analog photography, text, code, installation, performance, sound, and found materials, to question and reimagine personal and collective identities, consumption, and cultural hegemony in the present and in a speculative future. Plus, a blossoming curatorial practice showcases and supports emerging and established artists in various genres and platforms as part of their oeuvre: full of brilliant and inspiring colleagues from many disciplines. With a Frankfurt school based media theory background, and over 11 years of experience in producing and delivering various in-house and client-facing merchandise and campaigns, ranging from fine art infusions in diverse genres and mediums, to commercial photography in still life, event, and fashion formats with a long backbone of tech writing for various clients in the telecom industry, Jain has worked with global brands such as Nike, Salomon, T-Mobile, WIRED, and Eckhaus Latta, jain has been shown at Au Jus in Brussels, Belgium, Gallery Ske at the India Art Fair in Delhi, India, Refraction Festival at Eth04 at CIC, Elena Feijoo's Exgirlfriend Gallery, Weserhalle, Rachel Burns' Giftraum in Das Gift, & Retramp Gallery in Berlin, Germany, at Howard McCalebb's Dadapost, as well as with cultural institutions and publications across Europe, the United States, and India.
