Sergi Ramírez Pérez (Tortosa, 1967) is a self-taught painter who began his artistic career in 1995. From the outset, he has developed a distinctive body of work, shaped through experimentation and complementary training in disciplines such as screen printing, photography, and drawing at institutions including the Escola d’Art i Disseny de Tortosa and the Academy of Art in Barcelona.
In the late 1990s, he began to actively participate in the art circuit, standing out for his consistent presence in group exhibitions, competitions, and biennials at a national level. His work has been exhibited in numerous Spanish cities—Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, Lleida, Murcia, and Seville, among others—as well as at international events such as the Art Fair in Paris. Throughout his career, he has taken part in significant artistic calls, establishing a steady and recognized trajectory within the contemporary painting scene.
At the same time, he has developed a line of solo exhibitions beginning in 1998, with notable shows such as A Chronicle of the End of the Century (Barcelona, 2000), Mediterranean Chronicles (Vinaròs, 2004), N-340 (2007), and Fourth Landscape (2020–2022), demonstrating a coherent evolution and ongoing research focused on landscape and visual narrative.
His work has received numerous awards since the late 1990s, including several first prizes in painting competitions (Tortosa, Roquetes, Benicarló, Vinaròs, and Els Plans de Sió), as well as other distinctions, runner-up prizes, and selections in prestigious contests. Among his most recent recognitions are his selection in the International Figurative Competition (MEAM, Barcelona, 2022) and a runner-up prize in the National Painting Award “Fidel María Puebla” (2025).
With a career spanning three decades, Sergi Ramírez Pérez remains an active presence in the art scene, combining exhibitions, participation in competitions, and the development of new pictorial projects.
