Graffiti de luxe is a project inspired by urban expression. Tags, scratches, graffiti's often considered as a simple devastation of public places become the main motives of my work. Wherever I travel or pass by, I take pictures of old walls, lifts or bar tables marked by incidental inscriptions. Their esthetical and social value is the main inspiration of my paintings. I print them on a golden background using silkscreen technique. Gold, traditionally associated with wealth, gives them a new status. Can they, taken out from their ordinary context, gain new quality in today's materialistic society?

born in Wroclaw (PL) lives and works in Brussels (BE) The human understanding is like a false mirror, which, receiving rays irregularly, distorts and discolors the nature of things by mingling its own nature with it. ~Francis Bacon videos about my work: (KAIR) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=keXZVGGvxjY&feature=youtu.be I use various techniques such as video, installation, photography gilding and silkscreen to delay immediate perception. Placing in the observers’ vision obstacles in form of objects, places or persons I aim to evoke viewer's reflection on reality and misconceptions hidden in clichés deeply rooted in the society. My artwork questions common perception of everyday life. Everybody keeps images of persons, feelings or situations from the past, which blur their vision. These disturbing images influence our reactions and behaviors in certain situations, they impact our perception of things happening around. We are all products of our past, our culture, the context, which condition our ability to understand. There is no one absolute truth, but as many truths as there are perceptions. As a painter I always look for concrete pictorial aspects. My artwork is based on overlapping layers (whatever these are). This helps me to raise viewer’s awareness, sometimes through an indirect illusion, sometimes directly proving that there is much more hidden behind the visible. Exposing perception mechanisms and questioning images, I make the audience aware of their own perception by means of the phenomenon itself.
