About The Artwork

Hermes is the protector of heralds, travellers and thieves. He moves between the mortal and the divine and serves as a sort of tour guide for wretched souls. I mean, yes - he's a trickster - aka someone who is likely to sell you dodgey counterfeit goods or perhaps even mug you. Nonetheless, he has a role to play in our awakening. Think of him as your Jungian analyst who loves to play devil's advocate. Oh, and I've always wanted a leopard Hermes scarf for traipsing around Sicily or Paris or walking my dog up and down the street when I'm an eccentric, glamorous old lady. This oil painting on canvas is signed and dated on the back. It ships rolled in a tube.

Los Angeles-based painter Kim Kimbro creates psychologically charged animal portraiture that is characterized by bold color combinations and sensitively rendered subjects. Stylistically, Kimbro operates somewhere between the real and the unreal, creating an atmosphere that invites personal introspection. Her concern is to convey the frailty of human experience within these often life-sized portraits. Kim Kimbro received a BFA from the Parsons School of Design/New School for Social Research in New York, and has been exhibiting since 2007. Her paintings can be found in private collections throughout North and South America, Europe and Australia.
