ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Painting background: alternating metallic acrylic paint. Image: oil, acrylic and chinese ink on wood. Large format painting. Diptych. With this series of paintings called 'our babylonic brain' , I have juxtaposed different images and tried to expose opposing time and energy scales. The lefthand side shows the moment when one soccer player fouls another. The other side shows pylons that collapsed during an ice storm near where I live. Both are activities of massive energy occurring, however, within completely different time scales, one fleeting, the other more or less permanent, yet both within the same universe.
