Born in Ibiza (1984) and being brought up in its creative environment triggered Victor’s interest in art at a very young age. After finishing his business studies in Paris he first decided to pursue his multiple artistic talents by studying modern literature. Then, in 2007, inspired by other artists and incited by his studies he began to paint and write parallelly. Thematically, both forms of self-expression synthesize existential feelings and fears, as well as the artist’s personal experiences and thoughts, highlighting the mysteries and the ephemerality of life. Victor’s large-scale paintings display recurring symbolic elements, sometimes discrete and sometimes in a more obvious manner - such as simplified drawing of houses or crosses - which appear after many searching layers of paint as a culmination of the process. His traditional technical approach is often extended by using a large variety of materials such as wood, cardboard or earth which adds a third dimension to the paintings giving them a relief- or even sculpture-like quality.
