ABOUT THE ARTWORK
These painting on paper is part of series inspired by the writings of Hildegard von Bingen. She was a German Benedictine abbess and polymath active as a writer, composer, philosopher, mystic and visionary during the High Middle Ages. She has been considered by many in Europe to be the founder of scientific natural history in Germany. For these series i worked in my signature style and combining phototransfered images with gestural painting, used a beautiful, heavy handmade and handcut bütten paper. i send out rolled in a tube, unframed.
