About The Artwork
This painting has a pretty long history, I began to work on it in 2004 and finalized it in 2008. As a matter of fact I let it rest for several years until I got the final inspiration for the Valley. I used vinyl and acrylic colors to create a certain texture and patina. The glossy shimmering and the velvety elements visually interact with each other adding up to the 3dimensional effect. Although this painting is rather dark it almost has a glowing appearance. The earthy colors and the warm glowing red and neon red convey the impression of a sundown right where the observer – where you should stay. Please contact me for shipping information or options. Born 1978 in Berlin/Germany, I was raised in a city, divided by a wall and having experienced both sides before and after the fall of the Berlin wall, my art is heavily influenced by the city‘s new-found sense of freedom, a spirit of unlimited possibilities and a feeling of former restrictions rupturing, leading to limitlessness. And that‘s exactly what art is to me, limitlessness, disturbance, feeling. I want people to see what they feel by breaking open familiar images into the abstract to provoke inner emotions. My paintings are expeditions into inner landscapes, creating an echo inside the observer, reflecting a part of their identity.
