"untitled" Painting

For the interpretation of my painting, beforehand I declare to say that the Japan practise, for ages, is a deep attraction for the Europeans, in spite of all the differences and the obstacles they can meet, anyone endowed of sensibility is ready to recognize that it is a question of a fascinating and intimately eternal art. I have tried to express the sensuality of a face with an ulterior sensuality evoked from the painted cloth. In the title of the my painting the explanation : "behind the screen"... I have studied various xilografie, of artists like Utamaro, Hokusai, Hiroshige, I studied the cloths, kimono and the cortigiane of the city of Edo and I have tried to create a painting that evoked a western woman in a fluctuating world(ukiyo-e). The used cloth is a silk where I have represented cherry blossom(typical in the Japanese engraving). The sensuality of the western features is interlaced with the sensibility of the orients cloth. I ained to emphasize an atmosphere loving and evocative.
