My work is about identity, about who we are with or without the other. And about observation, interpretation and judgment: will we do that within those few seconds, or are we taking longer time to connect to one another? I try to look for the tension between ‘ it’s self ‘ and ‘ the other ‘.

I started my studies in theater design at the university of the Arts in Utrecht in 1993 But I fell in love with painting and switched studies to fine art with specialism in painting. I guess from that day I started my career. I got my degree in 1997. Before the university I got my degree in design at the Nimeto Utrecht, where I nowadays teach drawing and spatial design. This provides me freedom to make my art. I took part in exhibitions in the Netherlands Belgium and Germany, some solo exhibitions, Drents museum and some private collectors have my work in their collection. I did some art commissions and organization.
