ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I like to collect all kinds of paper and put them into my paintings. They all interact different with water and color. For this work I put them on very heavy handmade art paper. The papers form the basis on which charcoal and acrylic and water work together in my creating process of the painting.

I live in Dorsten, Germany, a small town near Düsseldorf. My studio is situated in Duisburg at Atelierhaus Weidenweg, which is the location of Kunstverein Duisburg. Growing up in a family of architects, I was surrounded by art from early on. Therefore I had the idea of becoming a garden designer. So I undertook a gardener training for two years. Being also interested in literature and philosophy, afterwards I decided to study History and German Literature at the University of Bonn. Later on I worked for an advertising agency in Cologne. For nearly 15 years now I have been working as an independent artist and freelance media designer.
