Black and white perfectly symmetrical grid pattern painting over 16 gradient painted squares.
///
This painting is a product of my obsession with repeat patterns and symmetry, with my inspirations coming from mundane details such as the pattern on the seats of the London Underground to intricate sequences within nature.
Painting in B&W is when I am able to channel my creativity in its most authentic form as I am focusing solely on the creation of the image without the distraction of colour.
The symmetrical grid has become a key component to many of my works having experimented with multiple colours as well as transferring the pattern into various other media and surfaces.
The artists Victor Vasarely, Bridget Riley, Yayoi Kusama and Josef Albers continue to be of great inspiration to my work.
