This work was inspired by the death of my husband. He died in October and in December I created this image while sitting in a gallery that was exhibiting my work. It is named the heart that loves what it cannot see and it is self explainatory. The woman represents me blindfolded, turned inwards, unseeing. The tree represents the continual growth no matter what the situation and the red represents the love and blood and loss of the most important thing in the world to me....my greatest love. I would like the viewer to come up with their own idea of why the woman is blindfolded. Yet again I have used symbolism within my art. It's my way of expressing myself visually. the only way I know how to take my deepest feeling out and look at them face to face. I have done this here, confronted them, and I have found it to be most cathartic. I would hope the viewer who sees this connects with it in their own way. Give it their own meaning. Let it tell their own story in their own way.
