Dana & Stéphane Maitec have worked together since 1996 and have formed an art duo since 2002. They live and work in Paris. Fine artists and photographers, they are members of Maison des Artistes. They have exhibited in Paris, Arles, Nantes, Strasbourg, Brussels, Antwerp, Amsterdam, Geneva, Roma, Los Angeles, Beverly Hills, Hong Kong, and elsewhere. Their photography has appeared in prestigious international publications, including The Financial Times, Elle International, Worth Magazine, Where Magazine, and Paris Magazine. Their work can be found in numerous private collections in France, Monaco, UK, Switzerland, Germany,Romania, Italy, the United States (Los Angeles, Palm Springs, Las Vegas, East Hampton, Miami, Boston), Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, New Zealand, Germany, and Mexico. Those who have over the course of time become protagonists of their photographic stories include international stars of film, fashion and the high life, from Samuel L. Jackson, Naomi Campbell, Heidi Klum, Eva Longoria, and Michelle Rodriguez to Kim Kardasian. In their eyes, photography looks like a film sequence in which the characters play a part, and even the artists also have a well-defined role: while Stéphane designs the sets and lighting, Dana is the director: with her refined eye, she senses the perfect moment to release the camera shutter and capture the privileged moment when the sitter’s soul emerges from behind his or her visage or, as is the case in their latest series, Reflections, when through its reflections the light itself creates a fascinating spectacle of colours and fluid forms. In "Reflections" series, Dana & Stéphane Maitec carry out a genuine experience of working with photography, in a new, fluid art genre, at the crossroads between photography, abstract art and light sculpting. A spectacular play of forms, reflexions, colours and volumetry, a manifesto for a minimal technological intervention of the artist in the process making of the image. ____________________________ ____________________________ "Our projects have always revolved around a complex and astonishing approach, showcasing a variety of artists, celebrities or regular people in a unique perspective. The vision that we both share has been reflected in every detail and every exposition presented, that takes the viewer into another world, a world where the artist gives that which belongs to the one being photographed: his self image.
