After Edvard Munch - Ashes Photograph - Limited Edition of 1

A series of re-interpretations of famous portrait paintings, that comments on the objectification of the woman throughout art history and nowadays - all the great artists have exploited the woman's body and its charms in their works, now advertising uses it as a sales tool. In all the pictures the model is the same woman, showing that any one of us can have a virtual image in accordance to the idealization of the woman's body, whichever that might be. And that none of us, not even the most beautiful models, look like the image they sell. The body is digitally recomposed from a photograph, through heavy digital manipulation that almost looks like painting. The blue rectangle is, in the original piece, a mirror, where the viewer can see a piece of her/his body completing the image, and thus including her/him in the idealized, refined image of a woman's body.
