About The Artwork
As I travel through life, I SEE all day long and feel the urge to capture it with my 'eye' phone. Here I was walking through New York and saw this building, the sage green color evoking feelings of nature in stark contrast with the monotony of the architecture and the height of the building and its physical location in the midst of a cosmopolitan city, far from nature. It is the Standard Hotel in New York near the High Line. I am often fascinated by apartment buildings or hotels: what goes on behind each window, who is inside, what story unfolds. Is it clean, messy, beautiful, run-down... So many questions come to mind. I am hoping the viewer gets drawn into this mystery too, wonders, lingers to imagine. If a photo of mine can provoke the viewer to pause, dream, feel an emotion, then my desire to share and inspire is fulfilled. This is archival photo print face mounted.
