Luiza Hartmann was born in Uzbekistan , which during the time of her childhood, and adulthood was a federal state of the USSR. From a young age, Luiza had an avid interest in all kinds of art and even received a scholarship to a Russian University due to her literature. Unable to attend, she still persevered and eventually fell in love with theatre and movie directing. She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts and finished her degree at the age of 21. After her graduation, she worked in Berlin,Germany , Italy, and Russia, until she got married in 1998. In 2000, her daughter was born and as a family, they moved around the world. Including the USA, Switzerland, Germany, and India. In 2011, she divorced her husband, and with her daughter moved to the United Arab Emirates, then to Swizterland once again. In 2019, her daughter moved to London, and as a going away present gifted her a book called “Art as Therapy” by Alain Botton, and shortly thereafter, moved to Turkey. Being in lockdown, and unable to see her daughter she struggled a lot with stress and depression. This eventually led her to have a stroke, which was followed by lung problems due to COVID. In an attempt to regain control of her mental health she turned to the book “Art as Therapy”, and regained a passion for art. Her artwork, which can be seen on this page, is a representative of her life and perspective, while also featuring some writing as a dedication to her past love of literature. Her work is mostly abstract, and can be seen from many different perspectives but it is always a visual image of her passion to nature, family, and beauty wherever it is found.
