ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I was strolling through Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, when I saw a modern building, with ripples on the façade. The shapes gave a lot of movement to the plasticity of the building and I wondered that it could be quite interesting to have that recorded in a photograph. I positioned myself perpendicular to the façade, so that the distortions only happened in the vertical direction. And the result is what I present to you.

Martiniano Ferraz is a Brazilian artist who lives in Recife, Pernambuco. It was during holiday trips, while still working as an architect, that he was charmed by photography. Nature, architecture and the urban are the themes he usually photographed. From 2020, while isolated in his home due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Martiniano Ferraz began to produce also geometric and abstract digital arts, where it is common to have vibrant colors and three-dimensional effects. One of its greatest sources of inspiration, in the use of color, is the art produced by the Brazilian artist Beatriz Milhazes.
