Photography: Polaroid, Black & White, Gelatin on Paper.
Inspired by surrealism, Magritte, Ralph Eugene Meatyard, this image is part of a much larger body of work that I started in 1988. All images are self-portraits and I consider each to be a performance captured on film. I chose Polaroid Type55 film because of the exquisite negative and because of the inconsistency of the surrounding border. I use a vintage Speed Graphic press camera and embrace the inconsistency of that as well.
