born 1962, worked as freelance photographer in Vienna from 1985 until 2012. how would i describe myself? Well, my parents dipped me into photo emulsion and then developed me. Photography has, and always will have, a very big signi cance for me. i started to photograph at a time when there were no digital cameras, not to mention computers. analogue black-and-white pictures i developed myself. My parents bathroom was my darkroom. and my passion became my profession. exciting years and countless assignments as a freelancer followed. aside from this, i also started with creative photography. an important period of my life, around the millennium ́s turn, was my experimental work with the medium black-and-white Polaroid. i created phantastic „light beings“, which in the end became the primary material for the exhibition „see me – feel me“. then came the breakthrough of the professional digital photography. With analogue photography, there is always this „magic moment“ which is responsible for resulting into a perfect picture. or even an ingenious one. With digital photography, the „magic“ takes a back seat. simpli ed, you get this moment by just pressing the release again and again and again. Until your memory card is full. this change wasn ́t easy for me to take in. i, the photographer, became a machine. at least i experienced it like this. as if a world was broken. and exactly around this time i met daisy Gold. Magic entered my life again. it ́s our different characters: at one hand, myself, the everlasting child, like Peter Pan. at the other, daisy with her practical, almost perfectly organized manner. that ́s what makes our collaboration so diversi ed and interesting. because both of our minds are so full of imagination, often envisioning the same fantastic images. the outstanding issue of our collaboration is that we are able to harmonize our thoughts when working on a new creation. the outcome is not a sum of ideas, but much more a fusion of thoughts from which emerges something completely different, like a third part of us. these magic moments exist. a little experiment suddenly turning into something very big. a new theme. important for us is to experiment, learn and develop further. We are permanently in search of new things. and, above all, joy and fun aren ́t allowed to get a raw deal.
