Orlando Sánchez Cabrera (Bogotá, 1960) is an emerging Colombian visual artist who, at 65, proves that it’s never too late to rediscover oneself and rewrite a life through art. After a successful career in business, he turned to visual creation as a profound way to explore his sensitivity, personal history, and connection to the world. His work blends fine art photography, digital painting, and image-based interventions—each piece becoming a visual metaphor for memory, light, and identity. His artistic practice aims to construct a narrative that is both intimate and universal, where everyday scenes are transformed into poetic reflections. It reflects a constant search for balance between the technical and the emotional, the natural and the symbolic. His creative process begins with patient observation and a desire to capture not just what he sees, but what he feels in front of a scene. He draws inspiration from light, silence, and the traces of time on objects and landscapes. Using digital tools, his own photography, and painterly effects, he reinterprets reality through an emotional lens. Each piece becomes an invitation to pause, contemplate, and reconnect with what truly matters.
