Berlin Witches Photograph - Limited Edition of 8

Shot on a legendary Rolleiflex from the last century, this image depicts a street scene in Wedding/Berlin, one of the rare parts of the city that has yet to be overrun by newcomers. Berlin like no other German city suffered under a heavy gentrification in the last decade, resulting in many of the original inhabitants of the city having to leave their birthplace, to make room for younger, richer individuals. Who are eager to pay any rent to be a part of the colorful, party-rich and sexual liberated scenes within the city. The poster on the window declares "Witches take back the night and the streets", while a man with a jacket walks by. The lettering of the jacket says "Blood in blood out". Wedding is one of the places that most tourists don't enter because of it's rough streets and high crime statistics. Those aspects of the quarter, kept it very authentic and affordable for the original inhabitants of the city. But they are people who are suggesting that "Wedding is coming" and that this part of town, soon, will get hyped and more popular. Shot on a Rolleiflex 6x6 film camera, with the frame number of the black and white cinestill bnxx film visible, this print does provide the attentive viewer proof that this, indeed, is an unaltered film picture.
