Each of us has memories of one or more past moment, of one or more person who are no longer with us, memories that we conjure up to overcome a day or a bad phase in our lives. In our minds, most moments from the past are blurred, and some we do not even remember. It is only when we see a photo of that moment or photo of people that all the emotions we felt at the time come back. The photography seems to undermine the feelings that are already there, but we just have to find them under the hidden layers of time. As a part of the project the Blurred Memories, I took photos of the personal photographs of the people who are no longer there, and of the moments that have passed. It seems like the time has blurred my memories, but when I look at photos, I remember not just a specific moment or a person, but I remember that entire period of my life. By taking a photo of the photographs of the particular moments and persons in the way I imagined them before I looked at the photo, I realized that my relationship to the photographic image is more than just in the image itself, it is in an emotion towards the photographs that have always been and remained more than just a snapshot of a moment. With this project I wanted to show that there is something about photographs, even the blurry ones, as a physical evidence of a moment that we need to relive the past again.
