BodyTrasmission in Es - Limited Edition 1 of 10 Photograph

The project is based on two main needs: the first one is related to the portrayal of intimacy, hidden desires to ourselves, the other is rather the urgency of eternalising naked bodies in unconventional poses. Considering that all this work is based on the concept of Es and the body in a very personal way and approach, I have decided to fix the images in a self-portrait attitude and technique, most of all to put myself, my life and my partner in front of my camera. I have tried to portray a man and a woman, both nude, facing the essence of themselves, like in a mirror, forming a set out of time and space, where the ES lives in a perfect match of Eros and Thanatos. For this reason self destructiveness and eroticism are the two impulses fully integrated within this project, as well as sadomasochism and its role in the construction of sexuality, including the psychiatric side of the word: deviance and desire. Black and white it is not a random choice: this two colours represent the two far away and opposite worlds: male and female, thesis and antithesis, black and white in the end. The post-production graphic work made on the images is intended to bring the users closer to the unconscious side of the ES. The project aims to depict in a very personal and intimate way the bodies' transmissions, dreams consequences, desires and primeval impulses. The work will be displayed using the shape of a cross, with the pictures printed on aluminium in a 10*10 format, including a hand glass on the side. This format and the hand glass are a cameo and a remand to the eighteen century's erotic and pornographic images that had this reduced format because of the subjects' obscenity.
