Born in Toronto, Canada, Erin moved to Dublin in 1998. She took up photography when her boyfriend at the time told her that maybe painting wasn't her forté. As much as it stung, he was right, so she began creating photographic images instead and never looked back. After receiving a first class honours in NCAD in 2008 in Photography and Digital Imaging, she contuinued her project work and began exhibiting in 2010. As well as exhibiting internationally the following year, she was invited to show her work at the Royal Hibernian Academy's annual exhibition 2011 where she was awarded the prestigious Curtin O'Donoghue Photography Prize for Breaking Point 2. Erin's work often examines commonalities between people and her themes tend to transcend gender, nationality and socio-economic status. Erin is not only interested in the relationship between the subjects in her work but the observer who considers the concepts presented. She asks the viewer to not only "see" her images but to question their own responses and reactions to them, analysing their own perspective on what has been revealed. Erin is married and has two children.
