Nearly 25 years after the collapse of the Soviet Union, being abandoned for a long time, the old Soviet vehicles (buses, wagons, and cars) went to ruin. And, this already created a cultural root in the post-Soviet regions.
“Carry your roots!” shows the ramificated racine of culture in Caucasus region. Artworks focus on Nakhchivan region, that is an Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan
In the “Carry your roots!” series, works are presenting artifacts of Soviet roots as a descent into ruin that may signaling the rise as a global capital of capitalism.
Ruins symbolize the boundary between Soviet dream to nightmare, as well as represents roots/rhizomes of political and economic system change in Caucasus region.
