In an intimate yet long-ranging look at the Gulf coast, the limited edition print series Human/Nature takes you on a journey along the Gulf Coast and the flora, fauna, and infrastructure that reaches into the Gulf of Mexico. When Jonathan set out to create this series, Jonathan wanted to highlight the Gulf Coast's complex convergence of natural beauty and human infrastructure. Unlike the East and West Coast which see millions of visitors each year, taking in their natural beauty, the Gulf Coast inhabitants are inextricably intertwined with its natural beauty through the amalgamation of oil and gas infrastructure, fishing and other critical industries. The images depict the intersection of landscape infrastructure and the beauty of the country's third--and often forgotten--coastline. From a limited edition of 9, this work is printed on legendary Hahnemuhle Fine Art Photo Rag Baryta paper, which sets the standard for image definition and tonal depth of black and white photography. Each print includes an embossed certificate of authenticity and is signed and numbered by the artist on the front. For additional sizes and framing options, please visit the website at

Jonathan’s reductive, black-and-white photographs have been exhibited around the world and awarded over 20 international awards from the most prestigious awards competitions in the world. He is internationally-recognized for his emotion-laden atmospheric, calming photographs with a minimalist style. Jonathan remarks of his latest work, “for some, the charm of a photograph is its ability to freeze a split-second depicted in painstaking detail. I am devoted to the opposite. My work—of sand dunes, waterfalls, forests, and piers—shows a world that is not stuck, but continuous. In this way, though abstract, my photographs represent a more accurate vision of reality. They are pictures of time itself. Where everything felt can be seen all at once.” After many years afield and afoot, Jonathan is rooted in beautiful Denver, Colorado.
