In the digital age photography removed barriers that made early photography a narrowly defined art form of picture taking. Technology fosters innovation in visual arts through new media and processes created digitally. This image is representative of my work. It is digital photography pushed to the extreme. In the new millennium, I employ a camera for expressive painterly purposes rather than documentation and realism. I delight in combining a love for color and painting with photography. I believe modern art and advances in technology provides an entirely new mode of creating, reached through digital photography. My techniques are highly illuminating and expressive. Original photos are reworked, after careful analysis, to bring forward visual information and experiences beyond what the eye can normally see. The processes and techniques combine the technology of digital photography with the creativity of a painter I believe my works could not have been seen before, they are created with knowledge and inspiration from the past and recent technology. I work in a realm where new technology and expressive modes are brought together for the first time.
