About The Artwork

This photobox is one of a series. I am working on a project where I am making photo compilations with pictures that I have taken over 40 years. It's nice to see that these pictures are timeless and similar, even though the subjects depicted are diverse. It's about silence and something you could call meditative. It's like looking into the distance without seeing anything. The immediate reason for the compilations is a long period of illness. Added to this is the actuality through Corona, which also meets a need for "beauty" and contemplation. Hold and balance at the same time. Design and production until the first boxes were filled took about 6 months. Little by little, more are being created. The work consists of handmade boxes (size 20 x 25 x 1.6 cm). Each box contains a different set of four photos. In addition to the four separate photos, each box contains a passe-partout, an extra photo with the compilation and description the materials used. The boxes have an edition of 15 pieces each and are signed and numbered. All prints are archival pigment prints on Hahnemuehle paper. Print size: 2,7 x 2,7 inch. Signed and numbered. All Photos are available separately in an image size of 11.5 x 11.5 inch.

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

I am looking for images of beauty frozen in time. These are often everyday objects found in various locations. They could be still lives, (urban) landscapes, even portraits. No-frills images. I try to produce a balanced picture by means of composition, color, shades of gray, line patterns, and structures. To me, a picture is not a moment in time, not the art of the ephemeral (as in Henri Cartier Bresson’s photography) – I look for those moments that will last. Working on an image is a search that requires patience and concentration. I am inspired by photographers like Horst P. Horst, Imogen Cunningham, Edward Weston, Jacques Lartique, Man Ray. Slow photography with a uniqueness untouched by the passing of time.
