About The Artwork
The work shows an encounter between the ancient fertility goddess Demeter and the Mother of God Mary in another time in a fictional place. Both are worshiped by people and are in the tradition of the Great Mother (Persia). They represent different aspects of the feminine. What they both have in common is having borne children of gods. Das Werk zeigt eine Begegnung der antiken Fruchtbarkeitsgöttin Demeter und der Mutter Gottes Maria in einer anderen Zeit an einem fiktiven Ort. Beide werden von Menschen angebetet und stehen in der Tradition der Großen Mutter (Persien). Sie repräsentieren unterschiedliche Aspekte des Weiblichen. Gemeinsam haben beide, Kinder von Göttern geboren zu haben.

With roots in Surrealism and Abstract Expressionism, Pohle strived for a symbiosis between gestural and figurative design. Andreas Pohle ist ein erfahrener Maler und Fotograf aus Deutschland, dessen Werke in zahlreichen Einzelausstellungen im Inland gezeigt wurden. Für ihn ist Kunst ein kontinuierliches Experiment, bei dem jedes neue Stück ein inneres Abenteuer mit ungewissem Ausgang ist. Mit Wurzeln im Surrealismus und abstrakten Expressionismus bemüht sich Pohle um eine Symbiose zwischen gestischer und figurativer Gestaltung.
