About The Artwork
Arabian Desert, Neom, Saudi Arabia. Never before have I been anywhere so desolate and remote as the Arabian Desert in Saudi Arabia. Famed for the exploits of Lawrence of Arabia in the first world war, the area is truly unspoiled. With an area of 233,000 square miles, it is the fifth-largest desert in the world stretching from Yemen to the Persian Gulf and from Oman to Jordan. The most amazing thing is if you have a four-wheel-drive vehicle, you can literally drive off the road for thousands of miles—if you don't get stuck. Up and down dunes the only restriction being one's lack of courage to foray further and further from civilization. Littered with the occasional Bedouin and thousands of free-roaming camels, when you stop the car, all you can hear is silence. No Planes, no trains, no automobiles...nothing. The Bedouin have a phrase coined from this experience; "Only in complete silence will you hear the desert". So true.

Peter Rodger grew up looking through a camera lens. As a teenager, the award-winning British director and photographer honed his skills by assisting his father, George Rodger, the renowned photojournalist and co-founder of Magnum Photos. But it wasn’t until he spent a summer in Paris working for Henri Cartier Bresson that the true love of photography started to take hold. Everywhere he went he took a camera - a trait still true today. Capturing moments, and telling a story in a frame became a passion. After completing his education at England's Maidstone College of Art, Peter’s skill with the lens made him one of the most sought-after talents in both the European and United States advertising markets. He has shot print and commercial campaigns in over sixty-three countries and still does so today. Peter has exhibited his fine art all over the world, and has won numerous awards for both his photography and motion work.
