About The Artwork

The beauty of our planet is often seen at eye level....what we can see, we can appreciate! The earth seen from above adds an extra dimension to its beauty! Frank White coined the term “Overview Effect” to describe the cognitive shift in awareness that results from the experience of viewing Earth from orbit or the moon. While I may not be viewing our planet from space - I aim to visit the concept of 'overview effect' in my work. 'Division' is part my Sands of Time Series. Using aerial photography we are able to capture the textures and patterns of sand dunes that Mother Nature has created, and are untouched by humans. The wind creates the dunes and the structural integrity of the dune itself determines their size and shape! A natural phenomenon and simply stunning!
