About The Artwork

"Electric Wave(length)" is a piece from a series called "Technicolor". This is a series of scanned, photochemical prints that I create by painting on photographic, light sensitive paper in a darkroom. I'm interested in blurring the boundaries between painting and photography by way of surface manipulation. The elusive nature of these artworks allows me to play upon the limitations and paradoxes that occur in the process and presentation of the work. This piece was featured at the Mills College Art Museum for my MFA thesis exhibition.

I make big, bold, gestural paintings, in bright, vibrant hues with interconnected forms. I was born in Los Angeles and began studying painting and visual art as a teen, taking courses at LACMA, UCLA, and Art Center College. I moved to Berkeley where I graduated with a B.A. with honors and decided to ambitiously pursue my M.F.A. In May 2015 I received my M.F.A. in Studio Art from Mills College at the age of 24. I have exhibited my artwork at locations such as the de Young Museum, the Berkeley Art Center, and the Mills College Art Museum. I have sold pieces to collectors nationally and internationally, including to Bloomingdales. I currently reside in L.A. where I continue to paint in my studio in the heart of the Arts District.
