His series "Femme Fatale's Judgment Day" received multiple accolades, including a Bronze Winner award in the Fine Art: Nudes category at the Tokyo International Foto Awards, a Bronze Winner in the Fine Art-Nudes category at the Budapest International Foto Awards, and an Honorable Mention in the Nudes category at the Monochrome Awards. In the same year, Tharaka's talent shone in the Annual Photography Awards, earning him an Honorable Mention in the People: Culture & Lifestyle category for his series "Joy In-Between."
