ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Photography: Color, Photo on Paper. The aquatic centre Les Bains des Docks in Le Havre, France, is the jewel of Jean Nouvel opera French architect of renown. The building is bathed in light and colour, with a peaceful, nearly magical atmosphere, which links time and space. Fascinated from the beginning by architecture and environment, the place inspired me the series « Fear of a Blue Planet » Eric Peltier sets free from the lines of the building he transforms according to his need to set imagination and meaning free. The pictures combine beauty, impact, softness and humour, and the series echoes as a message of hope. Though the theme might seem serious, it is the creative process which dominates the series. The work of Eric Peltier is pure and aesthetic, the composition is particularly elaborate. If the current tendance continues, we are heading towards an ecosystem destruction and the disappearance of many more plants and animals. The majority of which disappear due to reasons linked to our own human activity. The loss of biodiversity is also our fault, our failure. This work is print on Hahnemühle Fine Art Baryta paper with impressive contrats and color depth. Each print included an embossed certificate of authenticity and signed and numbered.

Eric Peltier, French photographer born in 1969. His work with many editorials and press pack helped him enter the Fashion and Beauty work, working for many well-known companies like L’Oréal Professionnel, Franck Provost, Virgin-Use, JBH – Los Angeles, Bolero-Zurich amongst many others. In 2004, he collaborated with the creator Romain Brau, trained by the Prestigious Royal Academy of Antwerp, Belgium, thus giving us his first Parisian show ‘An era of Time’, containing fashion, art-house and creative photographs. His personal evolution, his intuition and the interest it aroused brought him to concentrate in the field of artistic interpretations. The expert Benoit Ramognino, wasn’t mistaken and integrated his work in an auction at the Hotel Drouot in 2013. Eric Peltier has since then, been referenced in Artprice and other Auction houses. In 2014, he created the collection, ‘Fear of a Blue Planet’, and ‘Bain des Docks’, concerning a building by Jean Nouvel. This series highlights Eric Peltier’s capacities of pure creation, being able to mix modernity and technicity. His way of representing these disappearing animals was a real success. Original and meaningful, this series was well received and was the subject of many other exhibitions. (Région Normandie, Paris-Photo, Book Machine, Bordeaux, etc …) He won the Monaco Telecom Prize in 2015 for this work. His photograph of the pink flamigos is being used as the cover for the Monaco Phone directory. The same year, during Paris photo at the Grand Palais, this series was selected by Book Machine among 30 other candidates in Europe. Eric Peltier has participated in different Contemporary Art Fairs (Art fair Lausanne), as well as auctions in Paris (Rossini, Drouot), Arcachon (study Toledano), Rouen (study Cheroyan). His series, from California's Death Valley, was exhibited at the Opera House in Normandy in 2018. In these new works, Eric Peltier exploits with great brilliance his ability to play contrasts and to reveal pure nature in a very thought provoking way. Eric Peltier presented his work at the Château de Saint-Crespin at the Adrienne Desbiolle Gallery in September 2018. He was the guest of honor in December 2018 photographic meetings of Belbeuf. Eric Peltier’s photographs can be found in prestigious international law firms such as Fidal and Winston & Strawn. Eric Peltier has been listed on Artprice since 2013.
