 MY DAY Flowers and trees are nature’s most beautiful, meditative, and uplifting gift. My days are filled with flora from gardens, parks, environs, and creating beautiful images. INSPIRATION The inspiration comes from nature, flora, desire for creative expression and “flora masters” such as Monet and Van Gogh. Each image offers a different perspective and possibility; sometimes dramatic, other times hazy and subdued. The viewer is invited to respond and react to them individually. CREATIVE PROCESS The foundation for my work is flora interpretation, mostly flowers, but all flora is eyed. Once a flora image is taken it is the subject of numerous studies and experiments with digital and tradition media. In the digital age photography removed barriers that made early photography a narrowly defined art form of picture taking. Technology fosters innovation in visual arts through new media and processes created digitally. This image is representative of my work. It is digital photography pushed to the extreme. SUBSTRATE Canvas is a traditional support for art, used for centuries by the visual masters. Prints on canvas create a warm and thoughtful atmosphere in any space because of classic roots and enticing surface. A surface made of canvas is never eye straining or visually irritating with reflections. The inviting canvas surface provides a texture that adds to color saturation and intensity. Canvas prints provide a varied and versatile approach to complementing a space. To enhance a painterly approach and obtain the desired surface appearance, canvas is the best substrate. PRINTING The work is professionally printed on premium canvas with archival inks and a white border. The premium canvas produces fine detailed images and maintains color accuracy producing compelling combinations of color, light, shape, and shadow. The texture captures and disperses the light. The canvas is printed using UV 3M certified inks with a 100-year fading guarantee. PACKING Stretched art is boxed. Max size for .75" canvas wrap is 50" x 50". For bigger sizes, the wrap is 1.5”. Wrapped on the durable stretchers made in the USA.. INSTALLATION The art comes on wood stretchers and ready to hang, with hardware included. Frameless works, although informal, can enliven any interior, by bringing a visual and thematic harmony or counterpoint to the ambiance.
