ABOUT THE ARTWORK
"Flew away" is an original picture taken through Zeiss optical microscope and digital Cannon Mark II camera mounted to the microscope to show 20x magnified details of microstructure. The picture shows an abstract beauty of chemical interactions. At the beginning I prepare substrate for crystallization. The process usually involve the preparation of substrate with specific contaminants on the surface. I put a drop of random acids and bases from chemical laboratory. Then I dry it by nitrogen gas. After that I observe all the surface under the microscope and I take pictures of areas where I notice magical world which made by itself during crystallization in a chaotic and unpredictable way. Microphotograph is printed on Fine Art Paper.
