Art Description

Photography: Digital, Black & White, Paper, Manipulated, Photo on Paper, Other.

We share a visual memory, of historic events that shape our subconscious and affect our lives. This work explores how we record and register our emotional memories. In society we share a series of images that we know how to "read" and understand. I want this series to lead us to a question: how do we define the difficult histories that shape us emotionally and dominate our memory?
Often man has engaged in liberating different peoples and places, which more often means completely destroying a geography and displacing its inhabitants.
This to me is part of the transient and unstable nature of life. In the Freedom Series I emphasize the ephemeral, printing deep pigments on the most delicate of Japanese papers.
