ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Frigatebirds are common birds in the sky of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Usually they fly in packs, but this one I was able to photograph on my own. The sky was cloudless, but even so, I preferred to remove all the original background and replace it with a gradient of gray, where the lighter shade was concentrated where the bird is. So I was able to give greater prominence to it, resulting in this art that unites photography and digital art, with a strong minimalist style.

Martiniano Ferraz is a Brazilian artist who lives in Recife, Pernambuco. It was during holiday trips, while still working as an architect, that he was charmed by photography. Nature, architecture and the urban are the themes he usually photographed. From 2020, while isolated in his home due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Martiniano Ferraz began to produce also geometric and abstract digital arts, where it is common to have vibrant colors and three-dimensional effects. One of its greatest sources of inspiration, in the use of color, is the art produced by the Brazilian artist Beatriz Milhazes.
