In the quiet corners of Follonica, Tuscany, I often find myself lost in the embrace of my surroundings. My photography is a reflection of these moments—slow, silent, and deeply introspective. It’s on isolated beaches or amidst the stillness of green hills that I capture the essence of my art. Each frame is a conversation with the landscape, a dialogue that unfolds in the spaces between presence and absence. My journey as an artist hasn’t always been straightforward. I’ve navigated the bustling streets of life and the quietude of nature, searching for a way to express the duality I see around me. The darker images I create emerge from moments of unrest, while the lighter ones, despite their calm exterior, hint at a deeper yearning for disappearance. I’ve learned that light and darkness coexist, shaping the inner landscape of our emotions. Each click of the shutter is an attempt to dissolve into the scene, to capture that fragile threshold where everything is suspended. Photography for me is more than just a medium; it’s a form of meditation. I strive to transform water into a space of quiet reflection, where viewers can lose themselves in the simplicity of the moment. As I print and sign my limited editions, I feel a connection to the work that transcends the physical. The process is intimate, a final act of sharing my vision with the world. My art is an invitation to pause, to breathe, and to immerse oneself in the beauty of stillness, where the shapes of water become a mirror for our own emotions. In my work as a photographer, I explore the intricate relationship between landscape and emotional experience, utilizing black and white photography to distill my subjects into their most essential forms. My corpus of work is a contemplative examination of nature, focusing on the nuanced interplay of light, shadow, and texture. Through a minimalist lens, I aim to capture moments that resonate with silence and introspection, particularly in isolated settings such as beaches and serene hillsides. What excites me most about my practice is the ability to convey complex emotional states through seemingly simple compositions. My influences stem from the Impressionist movement, where the emphasis on perception and atmosphere resonates deeply with my exploration of landscapes.
