Futurist Vision is a bright Utopian cityscape. It is inspired by Bruegel's Tower of Babel and the futurist cityscapes from Tullio Crali and Edmond Van Dooren. It provides a bird's eye view on modern skyscrapers towering over classical architecture. Buildings from different cities are mirrored in each other's glass and steel surfaces backgrounded by a Saturn-like planet and stars. The work consists mainly of photographs taken by the artist of the skylines of Shanghai, London and New York. Over the course of weeks different layers were put on top of each other, combining elements of the different cities. The background stars and Saturnian planet derive from the space graffiti done by the artist. An aerial view of clouds was added with a see-through frame to suggest a (tongue in cheek) trompe l'oeil.

GJ Albers works are inspired by the tradition of symbolists and surrealists but he uses techniques of his time. His images are recognisable at first sight but there's mostly more happening than meets the eye. Looking at the pictures multiple times they reveal themes like decay, escapism and transhumanism. Sometimes grave and sometimes tongue in cheek.
